Biography

Phygelle Obas

Psychoeducator

Commission scolaire des Affluents

Ms. Obas’ academic and professional career has been guided by a love of and commitment to the cause of the most vulnerable, especially young people.

A psychoeducator by profession, she holds a D.E.S.S. in behavioral intervention with people with pervasive developmental disorders and a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Her goal is to contribute to the education of young people from cultural communities that often lack perspective and are vulnerable in many regards. This is what led her to create the Fondation Jeunesse et Perspectives, which she coordinates as Executive Director.

Involved in her community, she sat on the board of the Fondation LOJIQ (Les Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec) for two years, is president and an active member of the Jeune Chambre Internationale de Montréal, and has won several honours within this global movement of young active citizens present in over 100 countries.

Since 2019, Ms. Obas has been working at the Centre de Services Scolaire des Affluents, supporting students with learning and adjustment difficulties. She has made this her main priority and intends to continue working in the field of education, both through her personal initiatives and as part of the Jeunes Afro Summit research team.
