The Scientific and Ethics Committee of the Observatory of Black Communities of Quebec has the primary mandate of ensuring the scientific and ethical quality of research projects carried out exclusively or in partnership by the Observatory. It also contributes to enriching the Observatory’s research program. The committee will be called upon to review the Observatory’s research specifications, paying particular attention to projects involving human beings, in view of the ethical issues specific to this type of research. Furthermore, although the research program’s orientations are defined by the strategic plan adopted by the Board of Directors (BoD) of the Sommet Jeunes Afro, the committee may advise and issue recommendations regarding the evolution of these orientations and the deployment of associated activities.
