9th edition of the annual summit: Citizen, philanthropist, artist

January 31 @ 8h00 19h00

Come discuss citizen participation, community philanthropy, and cultural expression within Black communities.

Each year, the annual summit brings together community and institutional actors, decision-makers, partners, and citizens committed to the social, economic, and cultural advancement of Black communities in Quebec.

For its 9th edition, the event offers a space for reflection, dialogue, and mobilization around three key themes: citizen participation, community philanthropy, and cultural expression, considered as essential levers for social transformation and collective development.

The 2026 edition will also feature the presentation of the Entrepreneurial Innovation Laboratory, a dynamic space promoting the emergence of entrepreneurial initiatives, economic creativity, and the sharing of experiences from Black communities across Quebec.

This day will be an opportunity to present the achievements of the Sommet Jeunes Afro, share future development prospects, and discuss concrete courses of action aimed at strengthening inclusion, equity, and citizen participation. These reflections and contributions are fully in line with a vision of sustainable and inclusive development for Quebec.

On the agenda:

Report on the Afro Youth Summit.
Presentation of research findings.
Thematic panels focusing on the following topics:
Culture as a vehicle for mobilization: creation, memory, and expression.
Identity and future: how Black people are transforming culture in Quebec.

Opportunities for discussion and dialogue among participants.
Networking reception at the end of the day
