NeoQuebec

Cyrille Ekwalla has a diverse career that covers many fields such as journalism, audiovisual production, communications project management (political, cultural) and organizational administration.

Specialized in journalism, animation and conference moderator, he held the positions of reporter, then researcher at Ici Première / Radio-Canada (Désautels radio show) and Radio-Canada International (Tam Tam Canada) from 2005 to 2010. In 2015, he founded NeoQuébec, a radio show that quickly became a global web medium.

Editor-in-chief of the NeoQuébec web site, he is also the host and producer of the radio program of the same name, broadcast weekly on CIBL 101.5 FM. And with a perspective to shared integration, he created the Institut Neoquébec platform, an action research organization on issues of racism, diversity and inclusion, whose mission is to act as a bridge between the host society and neo-Quebecers.

Recognized for his leadership and proximity to people, Cyrille Ekwalla, passionate and curious, contributes through his actions to the development and participation of Black and other racialized communities in all spheres of Quebec society.

In 2021, he was elected co-chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dynasty Foundation.

His involvement and commitment have earned him several honors:

– ‘Leader Diaspora Camerounaise 2022’ Award for contribution to the integration of neo-Quebecers in Quebec by AS GRENET – Association of professionals of Cameroonian origin.

– ‘The Laureate Trophy’ 2017 – Personality of Francophone Community Radio at the Dynasty Gala.

– Selected in 2021 in the “Personnalité Média Engagée” category at the Dynasty Gala.

– “Gala Oser Agir” Award in 2018 in the Philanthropy and Social Commitment category.
