Scientific and Ethical Committee
The main mandate of the Scientific and Ethical Committee of the Observatory of Black Communities in Quebec is to ensure the scientific and ethical quality of research projects carried out exclusively or in partnership by the Observatory. It also contributes to enriching the Observatory’s research program.
The committee will be asked to review the Observatory’s research specifications, paying particular attention to projects involving human subjects, in view of the ethical issues specific to this type of research. In addition, although the direction of the research program is defined by the strategic plan adopted by the Board of Directors of the Afro youth summit, the committee can advise and make recommendations on the development of these directions and the deployment of related activities.
The committee is made up of seven members, including six experts representing different backgrounds or communities and one young adult under the age of 30.
